{"id":627,"date":"2017-02-16T11:50:11","date_gmt":"2017-02-16T19:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/?p=627"},"modified":"2023-08-24T07:07:25","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T15:07:25","slug":"create-a-password-reset-disk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/create-a-password-reset-disk\/","title":{"rendered":"Create a Password Reset Disk"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This guide will walk you through how to create a password reset disk.&nbsp; Some key points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You have to do this BEFORE YOU FORGET YOUR PASSWORD.<\/li><li>It will only work on local accounts, not Microsoft Accounts.<\/li><li>Resetting the password on a Bitlockered drive <em>might<\/em> cause a loss of data.<\/li><li>If you lose the reset disk, making a new one will cause all the old ones to stop working.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With that out of the way, we can get started. Here are the steps involved:<br><br>1. <a href=\"#password-disk-1\">Prepare<\/a><br>2. <a href=\"#password-disk-2\">Run the Wizard<\/a><br>3. <a href=\"#password-disk-3\">Test<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"password-disk-1\">Prepare<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Log in and insert a USB drive into your computer.
