{"id":1058,"date":"2019-11-07T10:05:58","date_gmt":"2019-11-07T18:05:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/?p=1058"},"modified":"2021-09-15T10:58:59","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T18:58:59","slug":"adobe-reader-and-the-tools-pane","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/adobe-reader-and-the-tools-pane\/","title":{"rendered":"Adobe Reader and the Tools Pane"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If the Tools pane (or other panes) keep popping up in Adobe Reader, it&#8217;s easy to fix.\u00a0 Just go to <strong>Edit<\/strong> -> <strong>Preferences<\/strong>. By default, Adobe&#8211;no doubt trying to be helpful&#8211;will open up a Tools sidebar every time you open the program. If you rarely use these tools, though (many of which are only enabled in the paid version anyway), the sidebar is simply annoying. Here&#8217;s how to get rid of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"345\" height=\"717\" src=\"https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Adobe-Reader-Edit-Preferences.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1782\" srcset=\"https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Adobe-Reader-Edit-Preferences.png 345w, https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Adobe-Reader-Edit-Preferences-144x300.png 144w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 345px) 100vw, 345px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>From the left-hand options, choose <strong>Documents.<\/strong> Put a tick in the checkbox that says <strong>Remember current state of Tools Pane<\/strong>, and click <strong>OK.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"818\" src=\"https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Adobe-Tools-Pane-1024x818.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1915\" srcset=\"https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Adobe-Tools-Pane-1024x818.png 1024w, https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Adobe-Tools-Pane-300x240.png 300w, https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Adobe-Tools-Pane-768x614.png 768w, https:\/\/busix.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Adobe-Tools-Pane.png 1030w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>This will keep the Tools pane consistent when closing and opening Adobe.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, all you need to do is close the Tools pane. You&#8217;re probably used to doing this every time you open a PDF, but this should be the last time you have to.
